Four cuts deep, Virgin Riddim keeps the focus tight, with General Degree, Hawkeye, Patexx and Prototype each getting a turn over the same 2008 dancehall cut. General Degree’s “Wah Fi Do Wid R” and Hawkeye’s cheeky “Wine Up Yuh Ass” set the tone early, while Patexx and Prototype keep the energy moving with “Like Chair” and “Walk Out, ” all of it riding a spare, club-ready rhythm that leaves plenty of room for the deejays to work the pocket. The release is credited to Various Artists, which fits the bare-bones setup here: no crowded lineup, just four voices and one version built for the dancefloor. The tracklist closes with Prototype’s “Walk Out, ” keeping the whole thing concise at four tracks.
