Back in 2015, when soca was leaning hard into bright, fast-moving carnival road music, Mega Mick Productions kept Vintage 45 Riddim tight and to the point. The groove sits in that clean, punchy lane with a steady bounce that leaves room for the vocals to cut through, and Farmer Nappy’s “Performance” feels like the anchor, all confident swagger and party-ready phrasing. Nadia Batson’s “Type Ah Way” adds a sharper, more playful edge, while Sekon Sta’s “Sweet” keeps the energy rolling without overcomplicating the pattern. It’s a four-track set, which gives the whole thing a crisp, almost single-minded feel, and the closing instrumental lets Mega Mick leave the riddim on its own, stripped back to the rhythm that holds the whole project together.
