Carbon Copy Riddim keeps its focus on the Carnival push-and-pull of rum talk, slangy boasting and big-room bounce, with King Bubba Dwaingerous steering the whole thing at a brisk 127 BPM. The opener from Mighty Platta sets the frame, but it’s the vocal cuts that give it shape: King Bubba’s “Rum King (Ah Just Start)” leans into the cheeky party chant, while Lil Rick’s “All Is Rum” and Skinny Fabulous’ “It’s The Weekend” ride the same rowdy wave with sharper hooks and plenty of performance. There’s a nice bit of chemistry in the way the producer’s glossy, percussion-heavy pacing meets those singalong Trinidad-and-Barbados style celebrations, especially on Lavaman’s “Don’t Test We. ” Seven tracks, twenty minutes, and then it’s gone before the energy can sag.
