Universe Riddim – Sipo Records

Sipo Records keeps this one leaning straight into dancehall, but the Universe Riddim has a brighter, more open feel than the usual dark basement bruiser — more groove than grime, even when the bass is doing the heavy lifting. Blakkman’s “Money” is the sharpest hook here, especially because the clean and raw versions let the cut play both radio-ready and street-side, while Iyara’s “Rich This Year” pushes the same hunger with a more determined, hustler’s tone. The Sipo cut, “Different Summer, ” ties the whole thing together with that summer-season confidence in the title alone, and the instrumental at the end is a nice payoff for DJs who want to ride the rhythm without the vocals crowding it. It landed in May 2021, right when dancehall was full of those compact, voice-heavy riddim drops built for quick rotation.
