Ruff Rider Riddim (2021) – Impact Musiq

Four cuts, four different voices, and that’s exactly the point here: Ruff Rider Riddim keeps the focus tight, letting Cracka Don, Chenn, Dhat Bwoy KC and Wahs each take a swing at the same 2021 dancehall backdrop. Impact Musiq keeps the rhythm lean and driving, with enough bass weight to carry the more aggressive cuts while leaving room for the hooks to land cleanly. Cracka Don’s “False Hair” feels like the sharpest opening shot, while Wahs’ “We Dem Niggaz” pushes the project toward the rougher end of the dancehall spectrum. There’s no filler in the sequencing either; the four-track run moves like a quick, deliberate showcase rather than a sprawling compilation, with each tune set up to make its point and get out.
