Torture Overview

In 2017, dancehall fans got a fresh wave of energy with the arrival of the Torture Riddim. This riddim was crafted in the heart of Jamaica, where the studio hand carefully shaped each beat, making sure the sound stayed true to the roots of pure dancehall. The process started with the producer, SHOW DI VYBZ RECORDS, a label known for bringing out some of the most memorable dancehall projects of the decade. SHOW DI VYBZ RECORDS had already made a name for itself in the Jamaican music scene, and Torture Riddim only added to its reputation. The riddim’s journey from creation to release was all about capturing that real yard vibe. The studio team worked late nights, layering drums and basslines until the groove felt just right. When the beat was ready, it was time for the artists to bring it to life. Roxxie stepped up with "Bad Company," delivering a performance full of energy. Teejay, who would later become known for tracks like "Uptop Boss," gave the riddim its edge with "Have Mi Gun Dem."
