The Downtown Riddim – Riddim Wise

The Downtown Riddim was produced and mixed by Riddim Wise in 2012, and it pulls together a wide reggae cast with names like Lutan Fyah, Sizzla Kalonji, Turbulence featuring I Shenko, and Mikey General. Built as a Montreal-rooted project with a global feel, the riddim also brings in Canadian and international voices, and its closing dub version adds a nice extra touch. Bossman, Higher Than High, Obeah Man, and Take Me are among the key cuts, with the whole set leaning into conscious lyrics and a classic roots-driven vibe. Riddim Wise were already making their mark as a Montreal label and production crew, and this release shows that same attention to detail.
