Rub-A-Dub Market Riddim finds Irievibrations Records doing what the Austrian crew has long handled well: pairing a classic reggae feel with a modern, artist-forward selection. The title cut first surfaced in 2011 on Luciano’s Rub-A-Dub Market album, and the 2012 riddim package expands that idea into a full juggling with Luciano leading the way. The label behind it is Irievibrations Records, the Vienna-based outfit led by Markus “Syrix” Lechleitner, whose catalogue has often mixed roots reggae, conscious music, and clean, musician-led production.

The riddim has a warm, rolling rub-a-dub swing rather than a hard digital knock. It leaves room for melody, with the bass and drum pattern doing the heavy lifting while the vocals sit comfortably in the pocket. Luciano’s title song gives the project its spiritual center, and Kabaka Pyramid’s “Lead The Way” adds a sharper, more militant edge. Raphael’s “If Jah Is With You” keeps the conscious tone high, while Perfect’s “Realize” brings his familiar uplift and clarity. Ward 21 and Tifa shift the energy with “Love Don’t Love Me, ” giving the set a more dancehall-leaning bite without breaking the flow.

Elsewhere, Niyorah’s “Workday” and Ras Muhamad’s “Taking Over” add variety, and Martei, Koxx, and Trixstar help round out a selection that feels international but still coherent.
