Sun Hot Riddim – Notice Productions

By 2012, Notice Productions had already been carving out a tidy little dancehall run, and Sun Hot sits neatly in that catalogue with a nine-song set that keeps the energy bright and summer-ready without getting flimsy. The riddim leans toward clean, mid-tempo modern dancehall, giving Bugle’s “Live My Dream” and Chris Martin’s “Give Thanks” room to breathe while Demarco’s “Jamaican Party” and the Chevaughn/Chronixx pairing on “Free” push the sharper hooks; Gyptian’s “Brand New Beginning” adds a smoother, more melodic turn in the middle of it all. It’s a compact release, but the sequencing works like a proper one-riddim showcase, ending with the instrumental version and locking the whole project into a tight 10-track package dated July 11, 2012.
