Violet heat. Gideon Production keeps this 2012 dancehall set lean and sharp, with just four cuts and a dub version, and the mood hangs on a tense, dry pulse that leaves room for the voices to cut through. Baba The Fayahstudent’s “No Time Fi Waste” and Redwan Fayahwan’s “Cyaan Touch Me” sit right in that pocket, while Cookie The Herbalis brings extra colour on “Uckry A Gwaan” alongside Di Govanah, which gives the riddim a little more personality than a routine juggling.
