SUBWAY RIDDIM produced by QUICK MIXX MUSIC 2015 /2012
Subway Overview
In 2015, the Subway Riddim began its journey in the heart of a Kingston studio. Guided by the steady hand of a skilled engineer, the roots instrumental took shape layer by layer. The producer, QUICK MIXX MUSIC, already known for blending vintage reggae with modern energy, led the project. With a history of producing roots anthems and a reputation for crisp, warm mixes, QUICK MIXX MUSIC brought a clear vision to the riddim. The studio soon filled with voices that would define the release. Anthony Que stepped in with “Phone Call Away,” his delivery full of soul and hope. Bekkie Bailey followed with “Hush Her,” bringing a gentle but powerful message over the rhythm’s steady pulse. G Maffiah’s “Live My Life” added a burst of positivity, while Ginjah honored mothers everywhere with the heartfelt “Love You Mama.” Guidance’s “U Still No Learn Yet” brought thoughtful lyrics, urging listeners to reflect. The riddim attracted even more talent. Gyptian contributed two tracks, “Prettiest Girl” and “Where Is Jah Love,” each showing his signature style. Junie Platinum’s “Mr. Dj” celebrated the selectors and sound men, while Luciano’s “No World War” called for peace. Lutan Fyah closed the circle with “Mi Cant Sleep,” his voice echoing the worries and hopes of many. From the studio’s first drum beat to the final mix, the Subway Riddim became a staple in roots sessions. Its instrumental groove and the unity of its artists have made it a lasting piece of reggae history.
