Papa Michigan produced the Golden Hen Riddim in 2015, drawing on the classic Mad Mad family of rhythms that also gave rise to the original Golden Hen name back in 1986. The set pairs Tenor Saw’s evergreen Golden Hen with Papa Michigan and Tarrus Riley on Dangerous Diseases, and also brings in Half Pint, Lukie D, Jah Mason, Lutan Fyah, George Nooks, Luciano, and Michigan and Smiley across a 15-track lineup. It’s a roots-heavy showcase with a strong nostalgic pull, anchored by the original cut and the Michigan and Smiley link to the riddim’s Diseases history.
