Signal Riddim (2014) – Loyalty Production

Signal Riddim moves with a tidy, springy soca pulse that feels built for the road, all bright percussion, rolling bass and enough space for the singers to stamp their own style on top. Loyalty Production keeps the arrangement lean and punchy, so the vocals do the talking: Boogie B’s “Life Style” has the swagger, Lethal G comes in sharper on “Mass Of Class, ” and Scholar’s “Nothing 4 Nothing” adds a more reflective edge. Pappy Boi and Yung Stuner lean into the playful side of the riddim, while Mustic’s “My Home” gives it a warmer, more rooted touch. It’s very much a 2014 moment in soca, when producers were cutting compact party riddims that could move across different voices without losing their bounce.
