Nookie Man Riddim – Xpert Productions

Nookie Man Riddim is another sign that Xpert Productions has settled into a very specific Grenadian lane: sharp, road-ready soca with a local stamp and a carnival-season mindset. The outfit comes out of Carriacou, and over the years it has kept turning out music that feeds straight into Spicemas culture rather than chasing any mainland formula. By 2025 and 2026, Xpert had already become a familiar name around the Grenada scene through projects like Feting Xpert and other seasonal riddims, with Boyzie, Slatta, Mr. Gold’N and others moving through the catalogue.

This one runs on a loose, waist-forward groove that feels made for jab and road movement rather than big ballroom polish. The title says plenty on its own: cheeky, a little rude, and tuned to the kind of carnival humor that Grenada does well. The cuts on it keep that energy moving in different directions. Boyzie’s “Season Open” sounds like an early-season anthem, the sort of tune that marks the start of the run-up and gets bodies loosening up fast. Riggy Atmosphere’s “C’est La Vie” brings a smoother, more melodic edge, while Slatta’s “Pussy Man” and “Nookie Man” push the bawdy, playful side of the riddim even further. Blackman’s “Spicemas” gives the project its most direct carnival link, tying the whole thing back to the festival that powers soca’s annual rush.

Slatta is the most familiar voice here if you’ve been following Grenada soca in recent years. He’s from Belair, Grenada, and his catalog runs deep across Xpert projects and other local releases, with a style that sits comfortably between jab energy and straight party music. Boyzie, also from Grenada, has built a strong soca presence of his own, while Riggy Atmosphere has been appearing on the Caribbean soca circuit with releases stretching into 2025 and 2026. Blackman is the least documented of the four in the broader soca space, but his turn here adds another layer to the riddim’s island-facing character. Altogether, this is the kind of release that lives or dies on attitude, and Xpert Productions gives it plenty.
