Serengeti Riddim has that warm, rootsy pulse that sits comfortably in the mid-2000s reggae lane, with enough room for singers and deejays to move from devotional to streetwise without breaking the flow. Pure Music Productions lined up 12 cuts on the project, and the mix of voices tells you they were thinking beyond a single mood: Lutan Fyah’s “Thanks and Praises, ” Da’Ville’s “Africa Is Calling, ” Delly Ranx and Chrisinti’s “You’re So Young, ” and Wayne Marshall’s “Beauty In The Eyes” each pull a different shade out of the same rhythm.
