Same Way Riddim (2005) – Soul Vybz Records

Same Way Riddim has that warm, rootsy mid-2000s pulse that lets the voices do the talking. Soul Vybz Records keeps the groove lean and steady, and Al Campbell’s “Chapter A Day” sits right in that pocket with a veteran’s calm, while Luciano’s “Save Us Oh Jah” pushes the conscious side a little harder and Chezidek’s “Fire Woman” adds a more urgent spark. Lukie D’s “Burn Baby Burn” gives the set another angle, but it’s the way the singers move through the same cut that makes the whole thing click. Five tracks in all, plus the “Same Way Version” tucked on the end like a quick nod.
