2012 was deep in that post-rave, street-dancehall pocket, and Ravin Hangova sits right in the middle of it with a lean eight-track lineup from Chinna B Productions. The riddim has that rowdy, party-forward feel: sharp drum hits, a bouncing low end and enough space for the artists to ride the groove without crowding it. Dwayne Rose’s title cut with Isaac Faith sets the tone, while Dollas Diemperor and Bucky Ital push the late-night energy on “Party Last Night, ” and Thunda and Fyah Rain keep the girl-song pressure on “Lot A Gal. ” Kyza’s “Judgement F*%K” closes things out with a harder edge, which suits a project that keeps moving between celebration, flirtation and straight-up sound-clash attitude.
