Purity Riddim (2023) – True Move International

Purity Riddim arrived in early February 2023 from True Move International with production credit to Vilaz Zen and release backing through Evidence Music, a setup that places it squarely in the modern digital one-riddim lane while still keeping the feel rooted in conscious reggae. The project runs at a brisk 139 BPM, so even when the messages turn reflective, the bed underneath has enough drive to keep the energy moving.

The riddim’s strongest cuts come from the voices that know how to work a message over a clean, forward-pushing groove. Turbulence opens with Where Do I Go, Lutan Fyah follows with City Get Red, and Chezidek’s Den No Deserve No Love adds that familiar steady-hand authority. Jah Defender’s Selassie I Way and Lutan Fyah’s cut keep the spiritual centre intact, while Da Real Storm’s Trouble Maker and Bad Sam’s Black Homaz push the project into a rougher street corner without breaking the overall shape.

The artist roster is wide enough to give the riddim real texture: Chezidek, Lutan Fyah, Turbulence, Jah Defender, Anthony John, Benjam, Ben Izion, Darawmus, Natty Dread, Robbie Rule, Stranjah Miller, Zionitte and others all appear across the album, with the full set stretching to 21 tracks. That breadth is part of the appeal here. Purity Riddim has the polished bounce and message-first focus that work well on soundsystem, but it also leaves room for devotional chants, warning shots, and a few lighter topical turns, especially on the marijuana and Babylon-related songs.
