The Assault Riddim – Heartical Label

Heavy roots. Heartical’s The Assault Riddim lands in that deep, militant pocket, with Basque Dub Foundation handling the riddim and giving the whole set a live, hand-played feel rather than a polished digital one. Cornel Campbell’s “Be Wise” and The Viceroys’ “Get To Know” set the tone early, while General Levy turns up later with “Head Corner Stone” for a sharper deejay cut. The sequence also matters: along with the vocal sides, Heartical tacks on the dub and melodica versions, including “Assaulting Dub” and “Melodica Assault, ” which stretch the riddim out in classic one-riddim fashion. Released in 2015, the project runs 14 tracks deep and includes an alternate mix of “Get To Know” by The Viceroys.
