Ballistic Affair Riddim – Heartical Label

Heartical’s Ballistic Affair flips a classic Channel One rhythm into a 2019 one-riddim set with a warm roots-and-rub-a-dub feel, and the real pull is the cast: Carlton Livingston, Trevor Junior, Skarra Mucci, Joseph Cotton, Glen Ricks with Kojak, plus Rootsamala, Neto Yuth, Stoneman and Original Uman all take a turn across it. The sequencing keeps the energy moving from the Lone Ranger and Carlton Livingston intro into straight vocal cuts, then opens out into dub, organ and percussion versions, so it never feels like just another compilation. Sly Dunbar and Basque Dub Foundation handled the riddim, with Jaime “James” Zugasti on the mix and King Hervé on mastering. Released May 24, 2019, it also came out as a limited 3x7" set.
