PROACTIVE RIDDIM produced by REALI.T.Y. INC 2015
Proactive Overview
In 2015, the Proactive Riddim yard session tape made a big mark on dancehall. The riddim’s heavy bass and sharp drums were perfect for sound system culture. DJs loved to play it on big speakers at street parties, where the energy and rhythm could really be felt. The tape’s street anthem base gave it a raw, powerful sound that fit right in with the bashment style of that year. A key part of the tape’s success was the sound engineer’s work. The engineer made sure every drum hit and bassline was clear and strong, so the riddim would shake the ground and move the crowd. This attention to detail helped the tape stand out on the sound systems across Jamaica. Behind the project was producer REALI.T.Y. INC, known for pushing dancehall’s sound forward. The label had a reputation for bold, energetic productions. REALI.T.Y. INC had already made waves with earlier works and kept the focus on gyallis (ladies’ man) themes, which are popular in dancehall culture. Each artist on the tape brought their own style. Bam Frass, with his track "Decimal Point," delivered sharp lyrics and catchy flows.
