Poverty Overview
Reggae music has always had a strong connection to the struggles and hopes of everyday people. The “Poverty Riddim” draws on this tradition by using classic roots reggae sounds. The warm, rich feeling of vinyl in the production links these new tracks to the early reggae records that first came from Jamaica’s sound systems. Today, songs from this project are again being played on current sound systems, keeping the culture alive. Jah Golden Throne Records is known for releasing roots, dub, and conscious reggae. The label has built a reputation in both Europe and Jamaica since its founding in 2011. Marshall Neeko, who worked on remixes for this riddim, is respected among collectors and selectors for his vintage-inspired production style and attention to detail. This release features several artists who each bring something personal. Eliah’s track “Poverty” stands out with its honest lyrics about hardship. Shadrak delivers “Sunny Day,” offering a message of hope over tough times. Vinny’s “Poor & Clean” adds another perspective on dignity despite struggle. Sheeba appears with “No Love In Dem Heart,” while Brainfood shares truth with “Hungry Again.” Of these artists, Vinny is recognized for his work across Europe’s reggae scene, especially through collaborations with various producers. Meanwhile, Shadrak has performed at several roots festivals in his region. Together, the voices on this riddim create a fresh but familiar experience for reggae fans—music that respects tradition but speaks directly to life today.

IMPORTANT
Promotional riddims or mixtapes are generally meant to increase streaming and sales of a production, directly benefiting the Copyright holder(s) from onset of official release of their material. Promos posted on this website are not necessarily always full. Same principle applies to quality.
Promos add the benefit of increasing exposure of otherwise unknown or new production labels, artists, producers, DJs, and/or those that have a low reach on a global scale.
A 72 hour to 30 day period has shown to positively drive this particular music industry over the last 5+ years of our operations.
When a promo expires, most links are removed from the website within 30 days. Through recent partnerships, streaming and download links for Apple Music and Spotify are always provided when available. Other platforms will be added soon.
