Oktober Riddim – Reyel Riddim Vol 15

Reyel Riddim Vol. 15 comes in with a very Caribbean-local feel, the kind of reggae compilation that leans hard on Creole phrasing and community-rooted themes rather than big crossover polish. The set ties together names like Djo Black, Dedess, Guy Al MC and Tiwony, and on “Fanm kweyol” Dedess rides the groove with a proud, straight-ahead vocal that sits nicely beside the more reflective “Si nou tout te ni love” and Tiwony’s “Ti fwe. ” There’s a steady, mid-tempo pulse through the whole thing, with each cut clocking in at roughly the same length, which gives the project a neat uniformity without making it feel stiff. Reyel Riddim keeps the focus on the singers and the message, and the little bonus cut at the end—an “Oktober Riddim Megamix”—is a nice afterthought.
