The 4’20’ Sound came at Banton Bandits Riddim with a chunky, late-’80s-to-early-’90s digital dancehall pulse that feels wired for soundsystems, and you can hear why it moved quickly into dubplate territory. Parly B’s “Dance” leans into the party energy with a sharp, crowd-friendly bounce, while Gappy Ranks’ “Buckingham Palace” pulls the riddim toward a more personal, story-led cut without losing the pressure in the bass. Deadly Hunta’s salute to reggae’s roots and Baptiste’s title track keep the whole thing grounded in UK and diaspora dancehall culture, with Oren Selecta steering the production from Byron Bay, where the project first started rattling sessions; a limited 12-inch run was part of the original release too.
