Piantiamola Riddim – Love University Records

Piantiamola Riddim opens with ’O Zulù and Bunna, two voices who know how to carry a rootsy message without losing the edge, and that tone runs through the whole Love University Records cut. The set moves through singers like Raphael, Earth Beat Movement, Fido Guido, KG Man and Piero Dread, with cannabis-conscious titles and herb-laced themes tying the sides together; Prince Vibe’s instrumental version sits in the tracklist too, which gives the package a nice breather between vocals. There’s also a clear Italian heavyweight angle here, since several of the names come from that scene and the project was issued in 2017 as a 15-track release, including “Healing of the Nation” and “Shakalab. ”
