Tibio-Far East Riddim – Fat Bird Recordings

This one rides a lean, old-school digital dancehall pulse with a warm one-drop sway, the kind of rhythm that nods to 80s roots while keeping the drum programming tight and uncluttered. Fat Bird Recordings keeps the format spare: the riddim cut sits alongside voiced versions from Tibio and Dub Troubles, plus a dub take that lets the low end and echo do the talking. Tibio’s “Never Give In” brings a melodic, committed vocal against that stripped-back backdrop, while Dub Troubles doubles as producer and artist across the package. Released in London on 2 February 2017, the four-track EP runs just over 17 minutes and was mixed and mastered by Dub Troubles at Lightning Studio.
