Produced by Bobby Digital on the Digital-B label, Kette Drum Riddim captures the 1995-96 roots-revival energy that made the rhythm such a big moment in Jamaican music. The lineup brings together heavy hitters like Beenie Man and Determine on Kette Drum, Cocoa Tea on Holy Mount Zion, Shabba Ranks on Having It All and Flag Flown High, plus Bounty Killer, Spragga Benz, Garnet Silk, Morgan Heritage and Frankie Paul with Edi Fitzroy. Recorded at Digital B studio, the riddim was first known as the Bongo Riddim before taking on the Kette name, and its Nyabinghi-inspired pulse gives the project a stripped-down, spiritual feel without losing dancehall weight.
