No Politics Riddim lines up eight conscious cuts and a version on Lustre Kings’ 2004 run, with Lutan Fyah’s “Woman Of Principle, ” Natural Black’s “Moving Time, ” and the Natty King/Al Pancho combination “Man Of Truth” giving the set its clearest voice. The riddim sits in that clean early-2000s roots lane Lustre Kings were pushing hard at the time, and the writing stays focused on uplift and anti-posturing rather than anything flashy. Empress Michiboo, Jah Marcus, Moon the Digital Ancient, Shadowz and Turbulence all keep the message circulating, but the title track’s plain stance says most of what the project needs to say. It closes with the instrumental version, which leaves the rhythm itself hanging in the air after the singers finish their business.
