Revelation Time Riddim – Frankie Music

Revelation Time Riddim keeps the focus on love songs, but it does it with a clean, mid-tempo reggae groove that leaves room for each voice to sit right in the pocket. Frankie Music put together a compact six-track set in 2017, and the lineup does the heavy lifting: Christopher Martin opens with the hooky “Is This Love, ” D Major leans softer on “Love Song For You, ” and Voicemail brings a more playful edge to “I’m In Love With You. ” Marvin Binns, Ice Man, and Jay Mckay fill out the set without crowding it, which suits a project built around melody more than flash. Frankie Music was launched by producer Frankie Campbell in 2007, and by the time this riddim arrived the label had already settled into that polished, radio-friendly reggae lane. Christopher Martin’s “Is This Love” is the one that lingers longest, giving the riddim its clearest lift.
