My Life Riddim (2010) – DJ Frass Records

DJ Frass Records usually moves in hard-hitting dancehall, so hearing My Life Riddim laid out as a straight reggae set gives the project a warmer, more reflective feel. The cut first surfaced in early 2011, even though it’s usually filed with 2010 riddims, and the lineup leans into uplift and survival with Anthony B’s Love Is The Answer, I-Octane’s My Life, and Bugle’s Mi No See It sitting near the front of the pack. There’s also a sharp moment in Assassin and Tarrus Riley’s Why You Do Me So, which adds some emotional weight to the sequence. With nine tracks in all, including the instrumental tucked in the middle, the order feels deliberate, almost like DJ Frass wanted the vocal tunes to move as one story before closing on his own version of the riddim.
