Money Boy Riddim – Young Blood Records

Young Blood Records had this one leaning hard into the mid-2000s dancehall sprint: the Money Boy Riddim keeps the tempo nimble and the bass chunky, giving the deejays plenty of room to cut loose without the beat getting cluttered. Elephant Man comes in with the biggest charge on “Nuh Bang Belly, ” all swagger and quick-fire energy, while Mr. Vegas adds a sharper, more playful edge on “Work It Out. ” Kiprich’s “You Naa Na Na” and Red Rat’s “Party Night” keep the mood lively, but the rhythm’s real pull is how well it holds together across different styles without losing its bounce.
