Mash Down Riddim – Lustre Kings Jamaica

Mash Down Riddim lands in that sweet spot between modern roots polish and old-school drive, with a clean, dubby step that keeps the bass moving while the guitars and drums do the heavy lifting. The opener, Lloyd Brown’s “Forward, ” sets the tone with a proper uplift, while Pressure Busspipe’s “Heights Of Greatness” digs into a more meditation-heavy mood that fits the riddim’s steady pulse. Lutan Fyah brings a harder edge on “Dawg Eat Dawg, ” and the whole set gets a little extra weight from the Zion I Kings family connection throughout. Released in July 2021 under Lustre Kings Productions, this one also folds in a dub cut, “Dub Down GT, ” which gives the project a nice final stretch for selectors and sound systems.
