Big Dreams Productions takes a sharper, more voice-driven turn on Mad Lion Riddim, leaning less on the kind of polished, glossy studio feel you might expect and more on a rugged, rootsy framework that gives the singers room to carry the weight. Clay Morrison’s “One Day” and Dezi Morrison’s “Mad Lion Roar” set the tone, while Esco Levi’s “Rise” pushes the cut into firmer territory; the arrangement keeps a steady, mid-tempo pulse and leaves space for the hook lines to land without crowding them. It’s the sort of one-riddim set where the contrast between the different voices does a lot of the work, with Karl Morrison, Kashu Man and Ra Deal each taking their turn over the same foundation. Released in 2016, the project runs through seven tracks in all, closing with Teranchilla’s “Mr Man Yu Nuh Look Right. ”
