Gone Music Production’s Mad A Road Riddim keeps the focus tight: three vocal cuts, each doubled in clean and dirty versions, plus the instrumental version that lets the riddim speak for itself. Mexican opens the set with “Naah Do Weh Dem A Do, ” Mr Diamond follows with the more measured “Neva Change, ” and Peppery closes the vocal run with “Straight, ” which has the sharpest edge of the lot. The lineup is small, but that actually helps the 2011 dancehall rhythm land with a little more force, especially since every song gets the same no-frills treatment. The track order leaves Peppery to finish the argument, and “Straight” is the one that lingers longest once the version cut rolls out.
