NTS Records keeps Calabar Riddim moving on a crisp, fast dancehall pulse, and the sweetest point of connection lands on Jahvillani and Diligence’s “Wine Up, ” which sits right in the pocket with the sharper, more blunted cuts around it. Dadre’s “No Stress” and frass don’s “Money Active” lean into the everyday hustler talk, while Kuzi Kz doubles up with “My Friends” in clean and raw versions, giving the project a little extra bite. It’s a compact six-track set, first issued on February 12, 2021, with Shortboss closing things out on “Real” before the riddim slips away.
