Don Corleon was already one of the defining names in 2000s dancehall when he cut Junkanoo Riddim, the kind of producer who could turn a sharp digital pattern into a full juggling session. The project lands in 2005 under Don Corleon Records, with Donovan Bennett’s stamp all over it, and it sits comfortably alongside the era that gave the scene Drop Leaf, Seasons and other polished, radio-friendly dancehall frameworks.

Junkanoo moves with a brisk, clipped bounce, built on a clean synth-driven pulse and a sturdy forward drive that leaves room for the artists to talk their talk. It has that mid-2000s dancehall brightness without feeling flimsy; the groove is tense enough for badman flexing, but light enough for party cuts and cheeky one-liners.
