Iron Dawg Riddim (2012) – Hyyype Muzik

Hyyype Muzik’s Iron Dawg Riddim comes in with that sharp, teasing edge the label was leaning into around 2012, pairing a punchy dancehall cut with a small but lively roster that moves from Mackmilli’s cheeky Do You Thing Girl to Tanya Stephens’ cool-headed Feeling It. The real spark is the way Benzly Hype folds his own voice into the project alongside Spragga Benz, with Maggle Mout sitting right in that rowdy, talkative lane the title suggests. Gappy Ranks brings a tough, nagging bite on Dog Vs Pussy Cat, while Masicka’s Hole Yuh Man gives the riddim one of its nastier hooks. There’s even a later remastered version that kept the set alive, but the original has that raw, compact 2012 energy, right down to the instrumental tucked at the end.
