Soy Sawce Riddim – Lamar Clan Productions

Soy Sawce Riddim came out of Lamar Clan Productions in 2012 with a tidy seven-track lineup that leans more on feeling than on flash, the kind of juggling that lets the voices do the heavy lifting over a straight dancehall pulse. Bugle’s “Above The Water” brings a serious edge, while Anthony Cruz keeps things moving with “Aint Gonna Stop, ” one of the set’s more memorable cuts. Hooligan’s “Loving You” and Fudgie Springer’s “Not My Only Girl” give the riddim a sweeter, more relationship-heavy angle, so the project never stays in one mood for long. J Yungg, Oriel and Ras Maisha fill out the rest without crowding the mix, which is part of the charm here. It’s a compact 2012 release, made for the era when these small, producer-led dancehall sets were still dropping regularly and getting quick rotation.
