Out of Jamaica’s early-2010s dancehall churn, Dark Skies Riddim lands as a lean KNK Entertainment cut with just three pieces on the board: Assassin’s “Same Thing Again, ” Bugle’s “Wait U Turn, ” and the instrumental. Bugle’s tune feels like the sharper pull here, riding the bleak, spacious pattern with that clipped, cautionary tone he was leaning into around this period, while Assassin comes in firmer and more aggressive, keeping the energy taut.
