ZJ Chrome’s CR203 camp gave the Humbug Riddim a sharp, brightly colored dancehall shell in 2017, with the kind of crossover energy that has long made his productions easy to place in the party lane. Chrome had already built a name through a string of impactful juggling projects, and Humbug sits comfortably in that catalogue: commercial, singer-friendly, and loaded with big-named voices. The project came out on CR203 Productions and arrived with a tracklist that lined up Charly Black, Mavado, Tifa, Chris Martin, Lia Caribe and Vybz Kartel.

The rhythm itself moves with a crisp, bouncy gait, keeping the drums lively and the melodic hooks clean enough for both raw and clean versions to work. It has that late-2010s dancehall polish, where the beat is built to carry melody as much as deejay chat.
