All Night Riddim (2017) – Chimney Records

Chimney Records’ All Night Riddim arrived in 2017 as a polished dancehall juggling that put melody and late-night swagger at the center. Chimney, the Kingston production house run by David Hayle and Jordan McClure, had already built a reputation for sleek, radio-friendly dancehall and would go on to be associated with some of the scene’s bigger modern hits. This riddim sits neatly in that lane: crisp, hook-driven, and aimed at both the clubs and the street-side sound system set.

The lineup is strong and properly varied. Alkaline’s “Suave” appears in both clean and raw versions, and the contrast helps underline the riddim’s commercial pull without sanding off its edge. Mavado’s “All Night” also comes in clean and raw takes, giving the project a darker, more menacing pulse. Sean Paul’s “She Call Me” brings the easiest crossover energy, while Jahmiel’s “Heaven” adds a smoother, more reflective touch. Chris Martin’s “Can’t Dweet Aga” and D Major’s “Vibes” keep the juggling moving with lighter, more melodic voices, and OCG’s “Y Man Cheat” adds a sharper street perspective. The Tarrus Riley and Konshens combination, “Simple Blessings, ” gives the set one of its more balanced moments, joining rootsy warmth with a dancehall edge.

What makes All Night Riddim land is the way it holds together as a night-time soundtrack without flattening the individual artists. It feels made for rotation: big-name voices, clean production, and enough variation in tone to keep the beat alive across the full run.
