HOPELESS B RIDDIM produced by DIGITAL-B RECORDS 2015
Hopeless B Overview
The dub cut of the Hopeless B Riddim project stayed close to the classic reggae roots sound. This release featured a strong line-up of artists, each bringing their own style to the riddim. Fay-Ann Lyons, known for her powerful voice and energetic performances, contributed the song "Rain Cry." She is a well-known artist from Trinidad and Tobago, and has won multiple Soca Monarch titles in her career. Iba Mahr added the track "So Fine" to the project. Iba Mahr is recognized for his soulful roots reggae style and is known for songs like "Diamond Sox." Imar Shephard’s "Real Man" brought a smooth, conscious vibe, while Lutan Fyah delivered "Hold A Vibes," staying true to his roots reggae background. Lutan Fyah has built a solid reputation in reggae with songs like "St. Jago De La Vega" and has collaborated with many top producers. All these songs were brought together by DIGITAL-B RECORDS, a label with a long history in Jamaican music. DIGITAL-B RECORDS was founded by Bobby "Digital" Dixon in the late 1980s and became famous for helping to shape the digital dancehall sound. The label has worked with many leading reggae and dancehall artists over the years. By keeping the dub cut rooted in traditional reggae structure, the project connected both old and new listeners. Hopeless B Riddim kept the roots message alive in 2015, showing respect for the foundation while reaching forward in sound and spirit.
