Anthony Cruz’s “In My Life” gives Holiday Riddim its smoothest hook, but the whole 2015 Chris Knight Music set leans into that late-night, lovers-rock side of reggae with a laid-back 75 BPM pulse and tidy three-minute cuts. Ginjah’s “Africa Calling” and Anthony Red Rose’s “Ready” bring a more seasoned voice to the mix, while Honorebel, Ian Sweetness and Chris Demontague keep the mood on the romantic tip without overcomplicating things. Kancepp’s “Gotta Hold On Me” has been picked out as a strong seller from the set, which fits a compilation that feels aimed at sound systems and radio selectors who wanted easy-going, melodic reggae in that era.
