Hiternal Productions keeps Heavy Duty Riddim in the early-2000s roots lane, and Joel Martin’s 2007 juggling lines up a focused eight-cut set that moves from conscious statements to tougher street talk without losing its footing. Jah Mason’s “Give Thanks” and Lutan Fyah’s “Onward Rastafari” carry the kind of uplift you’d expect from that period, while Mark Wonder’s “Long Way To Travel” and Turbulence’s “Bun Dutty Mind” push the energy a little harder. There’s a nice bit of variety too, with Ax-Saw’s “Round Table Talk” and the Ice guest spot on Professional Daynjah’s “Pressure” giving the riddim some extra texture. Even with the lineup spread across several voices, the final word lands on Turbulence, who cuts through the set with the sharpest edge and leaves the Heavy Duty groove feeling properly battle-ready.
