Gwadabad Riddim lands with a breezy, Creole-rooted dancehall swing, the kind of cut that feels made for sound system play but still keeps a little island sparkle in the mix. Tiwony’s “Dem No Real” has that sharp, cautionary edge he does so well, while Apachino’s “Bizness” pushes harder into straight-talking street mode; both sit nicely alongside Taï J’s “Konka, ” which was one of the first tunes teased from the project. The whole set comes from Musikaddict LA Prod under the guidance of Kultcha B, a name long tied to French Caribbean dancehall, and the riddim itself was noted for its dancehall backbone with jazzy samples threaded through it. Released in late 2021, it gathers a solid cross-section of voices from Guadeloupe, Martinique and beyond without losing its local pulse.
