Earth Loop Riddim finds Swar Dawg Records leaning into a tough, contemporary dancehall cut with enough space for melody and grit, and the opening pair of 10Tik and Yaksta on “Freedom” set that tone fast before AceGawd’s “Fire Works” and Fully Bad’s “Blessings” push it further into streetwise, motivational territory. The whole set feels very 2021 in the best sense, with sharp-dealer titles like “Trust Nobody, ” “Endurance, ” “Surgery, ” and “Day One” giving the riddim a restless edge while the production keeps a clipped, urgent bounce underneath it all. Swar Dawg, whose label had only been active since late 2020, leaned on a 17-track compilation here, and the result runs just under an hour with a wide cast that also includes Insideeus, Kriz Kapital, Mata Don, and Fya Doops.
