A tight, cheeky dancehall swing runs through Gal Time Riddim, with just enough bounce and grit to keep the vocals snapping against the groove. Veinless Records kept it lean in 2018, pairing only five tracks with four names, so there’s no clutter to hide behind: Pacco’s “Trust No Friend” sets the tone with a wary edge, Pattex answers with the more flirtatious “Bounce It Pon Me, ” and Poptain’s “Ride Pan Jak” pushes the riddim a little harder. The final stretch belongs to Magical, who turns up twice and gives the project its most memorable moments; “Friends N Family” has the warmer, more reflective angle, while “Rudo” closes things with the sharpest pull.
