Studio Vibes Entertainment comes in with a crisp, mid-tempo dancehall cut here, the kind of riddim that leaves room for hooks to snap and vocals to ride the pocket without crowding the rhythm. Hot Topic runs just five tracks, but it gets straight to the point with Beenie Man joining Alfray on “Bring Back, ” Ding Dong’s dance-ready “Walk, ” and Mr. Vegas turning “Mad Me” into the sort of stern, melodic pull he’s always been good at. The producer keeps the arrangement lean and buoyant, and that suits Ding Dong especially well, since his cut sits right on the riddim’s forward-moving bounce rather than fighting it.
