FORMULA RIDDIM produced by WDH MUSIC GROUP 2015
Formula Overview
The creation of the street anthem base for the Formula Riddim started in a Kingston studio in 2015. Producers at WDH MUSIC GROUP wanted to capture the raw energy of dancehall streets. Their creative direction focused on heavy basslines and catchy melodies that would move crowds in dancehall sessions. WDH MUSIC GROUP, an independent label known for spotlighting fresh dancehall talent, had already gained respect for their sharp production and ear for hit riddims. Their work on Formula Riddim added to their reputation for shaping the modern dancehall sound. The riddim brought together a strong lineup of artists. Charly Black stood out with “Bend Ova,” a song that quickly became popular in parties for its bold lyrics and infectious rhythm. De Ja Vu added another layer with “Knockings,” a track that mixed hypnotic beats with streetwise lyrics, making it a favorite among hardcore dancehall fans. Macka Diamond, a veteran in the scene, brought her signature attitude to “Head Hot,” delivering a powerful performance that connected with both male and female listeners. Nefatari’s “High Heals” added a touch of style and confidence, giving the riddim a fashionable edge. Scotch Bonnet’s “More Gal” kept the energy high, celebrating dancehall’s party spirit. Other artists like Sotto Bless with “Party Crazy,” Terro 3000 with “Only Gyal,” Tiana with “Watch Dem A Watch Me,” and Willy Chin with “So Amazing” all contributed to the riddim’s wide appeal. The street anthem base of Formula Riddim remains a key part of dancehall history, bringing together raw street flavor and creative production that still inspires today.
