Dub Detergent Overview
Dub Detergent Riddim arrived in 2016 as a fresh sound in dancehall music. The riddim became popular at late-night parties, with fans enjoying its strong beat and lively energy. It stood out that year for its unique style and club-friendly sound. Several well-known artists took part in this project. Esco brought his song “Till Mi Die.” Esco is recognized in dancehall for his solo work and collaborations, including his time with Leftside as part of the duo Leftside & Esco. Teflon added “High Grade Blaze,” showing his skill in mixing conscious lyrics with modern rhythms. Million Stylez, best known for his international hit “Miss Fatty,” performed “Gallis From Mi Born” on this riddim. Delly Ranx, who has produced and performed many dancehall hits, gave fans “Hype.” I Wayne and Twin Of Twins teamed up for “Computer World.” I Wayne is widely known for his roots reggae hit “Can't Satisfy Her,” which topped reggae charts in Jamaica and abroad. Other artists included Terry Ganzie with “Far From Dem,” Bugle X Red Rose on “Sound Bwoy Dead,” Bling Dawg with “Do Di Maths,” Darrio X Nature on “Weedy Weedy,” and Rhyme Minister with “If Mi Nuh Smoke.” Each artist added their own style, making the riddim diverse and exciting. The bashment arranger played a key role, tying all the tracks together into a strong, unified sound. Looking back, Dub Detergent Riddim helped keep dancehall vibrant in 2016, giving both fans and DJs new music to enjoy on the dance floor.
